Yoga is union with the Spirit
Clearing Chakras using Affirmations
‘’Freedom is when you really get your own powers which are within you… In your central nervous system and in your conscious mind you must feel the existence of the spirit.’’ H.H. Shri Mataji
The majority of realized people have used affirmations when their Kundalini was first awakened at the time of self
realization. An affirmation is the English equivalent of a mantra and can be used to help clear any blockage in the subtle body.
Each Chakra has an inbuilt set of functions and qualities which recede when the subtle body becomes blocked or
challenged, but can be re-awakened using affirmations. When a quality is affirmed during meditation, the corresponding Chakra benefits and its function improves. Sometimes gradually or often spontaneously, the
Chakra recovers and the associated problem is dissolved.
There are 3 primordial powers within us, i.e. 1 for each channel or nadi (the left, right and centre). Similarly, the 7 major Chakras have distinct qualities that may experience problems on the left, right or centre.
In the same way that Chakras can be cleared using vibrations, when in meditation the seeker can place the right hand onto the relevant area of the body (keeping the left palm turned upwards) and make the appropriate affirmation a number of times until the subtle body clears.
How to do it?
1) After sitting in meditation for sometime hold out hands and ask ‘Mother, please
let me feel my vibrations’.

2) When you become aware of the Chakras needing attention, place right hand on the associated place on the body. For example, if you feel the left thumb is hot and tingling, place right hand on to the left swadhistan on the front of the body.

3) Using the chart below, take the corresponding affirmation (it need not be said aloud) until the Chakra clears.

4) Try to include affirmations into your daily meditation as well as at any other time that you become aware of the need. For example, an affirmation could be used during a difficult situation at work.
